Comcast has filed a lawsuit against former business partner Sprint, alleging that the wireless network operator is infringing on its patents. Comcast says Sprint is violating four patents, which pertain to how Sprint uses IP/MPLS to handle its voice and data traffic; how Sprint handles MMS messages, picture mail, video mail, and mobile email; how Sprint handles SMS products, such as Vision Pack; and how Sprint’s mobile broadband products, such as USB modems and hotspots, “dynamically bind a network computer client device” to an ISP. Comcast is seeking an injunction, damages, and legal fees.
