Google Adds ‘Hot Spots’ to Maps for Android Monday, November 15, 2010

Google has updated Maps for Android to version 4.7. The new version of Maps adds one major new feature: the ability for users to rate local businesses while out and about. A new hone screen widget accompanies the updated app, from which users can provide overall ratings as well as separate ratings for food, service, and atmosphere. Google noted that users’ recommendations will be incorporated into search results, which Google says will help it suggest venues that users are more likely to enjoy. Last, users can also tap their friends’ recommendations. The new version of Google Maps for Android is a free download from the Android Market.
