LG today announced the Optimus 2X, what it says is the world’s first Android smartphone with dual-core processors. The processor is an Nvidia Tegra 2, clocked at 1GHz, and is capable of supporting advanced media features. Other hardware features include a four-inch WVGA screen, microSD support up to 32GB, 8 megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video recording and 1.3 megapixel front camera, and a bevy of sensors, including gyroscope and accelerometer. The Optimus 2X also has an HDMI port and DLNA for video sharing. The Optimus 2X runs Android 2.2 Froyo at launch, but will be upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
