MetroPCS Sues FCC Over Net Neutrality, Too Tuesday, January 25, 2011

Following a path laid by Verizon Wireless, MetroPCS has filed a lawsuit in hopes of preventing the Federal Communications Commission’s recently proposed net neutrality rules from ever reaching the law books. In a statement, MetroPCS CEO Roger Linquist said, “MetroPCS’ concerns regarding the jurisdictional basis for the net neutrality rules, the recent appeal filed by Verizon, and challenges raised by some proponents of net neutrality to MetroPCS’ recent 4G rate plans, have caused Metro PCS to appeal the FCC’s net neutrality order to ensure that the concerns of competitive wireless carriers, like MetroPCS, are addressed.” MetroPCS’ complaint comes on the heel of lawsuits filed against it by consumer protection groups, which allege that MetroPCS’ policies will run afoul of the FCC’s proposed neutrality regulations.
