Sony Ericsson today announced that it will begin updating its Android-based Xperia devices to Android 2.1 starting on Sunday, October 31. The Xperia X10, X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro — which shipped with Android 1.6 — will all receive the 2.1 Eclair update. Sony Ericsson will roll out the update in phases, and expects the software update to be distributed throughout the month of November. Most users will be able to update over the air, though some may require the use of a PC. The new software adds capabilities to al three devices, including the newer features in Android 2.1
